Jubilee has always been a Goleta church. It was started by  Pastors Jon and Julie Eymann in a store front in Isla Vista back in 1974. It moved to the Sexton Property (now the Quality Inn by Hwy 217), then out by Brandon School, and finally to its present location at 7190 Hollister Ave.

For over 40 years Jubilee has been a place where a vibrant mix of ages, races, and interests have come together to share in spirit-filled worship, scripturally grounded teaching, and artistic expression, and to create an atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to participate. As Pastor Jon says, "We are all ministers!"

Though Jubilee is a small church, we live large. We have weekly Bible studies, periodic men's, women's, and children's meetings, and host a lot of neighborhood events. We hang out to watch sports together, go hiking, take road trips, and find a lot of little ways to be a family to each other.

We also have an outdoor retreat center onsite, available upon request to Jubilee members and other church groups.

Our Pastors

Pastors Jon and Julie Eymann met at UCSB, married, and began Jubilee together in 1974 under the direction of pastors Violet Kiteley, Leonard Fox, and David Schoch. Pastor Jon is a certified Marriage and Family Therapist who recently retired from the Ventura County Behavioral Health Department and continues his private practice. Pastor Julie was a concert pianist, a teacher, and then worked as the Grad Advisor for the Art Studio department at UCSB. Both Jon and Julie teach on worship and other topics at seminars and churches around the world.
